THE PARISH HALL

For available dates and prices please contact Mr. T. Blenkinsopp on 01388 731832.

In 2005 the hall was extensively updated to a very high standard with good kitchen facilities including hot water, an electric cooker and fridge, cutlery and china, a spacious hall equipped with tables and chairs, disabled persons ladies and gents toilets.  It also has disabled persons access and off road parking.  A drinks licence can be arranged.  It is suitable for all kinds of functions.

The hall was originally erected in 1846 as a school and it catered for 80 scholars.  It was built with money donated by Miss Elizabeth Greenwell of Broomshields, and was owned by the Greenwell Trust.  In the 1980s the building was in need of renovation and the Trust decided they no longer wanted to maintain it.  In 1981 it was sold to the P.C.C. who are trustees of the hall.

In 2004 and 2005 the Churchwardens, Mrs. Grace Hall and Mrs Chrissie Clark, and various fund raising events held in the hall, managed to raise a considerable amount of money which enabled the hall be brought up to a very high standard.  The roof was renewed: the floor and foundations replaced: windows replaced in hard wood in the original style and double glazed: both ladies and gents toilets were brought up to date: more kitchen units put in place along with a cooker and fridge.
